Time: 18 November - 23 November 2019
City: Nurmes and Rautavaara, Finland
Main organizers: Hyvärilä and Metsäkartano Youth Center (Finland)
Financing: The project is co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union
Description of the training course:
Working with young people from rural and remote areas can be challenging, and digital youth work methods can be very helpful in it. As one of the methods we want to discuss gaming - is it productive? Is it for everybody? How to use it wisely? Within the project we want to inspire dialogue and discussion of project themes, inspire new ideas on using digital methods in their work. The project is developed to share practices of Finnish youth work organisations to contribute to capacity building of participants.
This project implies a study visit to Finland from partner organizations from Cyprus, Georgia, Sweden, Italy, Morocco and Bulgaria. Hosting organizations in Finland are Hyvärilä and Metsäkartano youth centers, located next to each other, and bearing many similarities, yet each having unique features. Participants of the study visit are youth workers and volunteers from partner organisations who either use or intend on using digital youthwork methods, and want to learn about the Finnish experience.
